The comedian and host of the upcoming 88th ceremony compares the gala with New Year's Eve.

AceShowbiz - Chris Rock lists what to expect from the upcoming 2016 Oscars. The comedian appeared on the award show's first promo which was aptly aired on New Year's Eve.

"I'm Chris Rock and I'm hosting the Oscars," he began with an introduction. "Much like New Year's Eve, it'll be a night that ends with a lot of drunk, disappointed people swearing they'll do better next year." He tweeted the promo video and wrote, "There will always be 3 constants. Death, taxes and the Oscars. Hope all 3 don't happen to me this year."

The 88th Annual Academy Awards will be held February 28 at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood and aired live on ABC starting 7 P.M. ET. Nominations will be announced on January 14. This is the second time Rock hosts the show. He led the 77th Oscar awards in 2005 and received mixed reviews. He was praised by some for his boldness and slammed by others who couldn't take his sharp jokes.

There will be more promo videos released for this year's ceremony on the upcoming days. A previously-released behind-the-scene look at the promo shoot had a prompter saying, "When they asked me to host the Oscars, I told them that I'd only do it if Jimmy Kimmel hosts a live special after the Oscars."
