Former child star Drake Bell was arrested on early Monday, December 21 morning in Glendale, California. The 29-year-old actor, known for his role in Nickelodeon's "Drake & Josh", was on suspicion of driving under the influence, police said.
Glendale Police spokeswoman Tahnee Lightfoot told several sites that Bell was pulled over at around 2:18 A.M. local time after allegedly speeding and driving erratically in his lane. He reportedly swerved and sped after abruptly stopping at a red light. He was going 55 in a 35 speed limit, TMZ said.
The officer smelled odor of alcohol from inside the vehicle and ordered him to get out of the car. Bell "did not satisfactorily complete" a field sobriety test. He was taken to the police station but released hours later on $20,000 bail and given a court date.
Bell's rep has not commented on the incident. It is yet clear whether the arrest will affect his recently sold-out tour in Mexico which begins February 5.
