TV

The 'Saturday Night Live' alum books a multi-episode guest arc on the FOX comedy to play a therapist.

Maya Rudolph is the latest guest star invited to "The Grinder". The "Bridesmaids" star has signed up to play Jillian, a therapist who will help rivaling brothers Stewart (Fred Savage) and Dean (Robe Lowe) settle their issues.

According to the character description, Stewart started seeing Jillian when Dean moved back home. Stewart recommends that his hotshot (former) actor brother pay her a visit so she can "bring him down to earth a little and start seeing things his [Stewart's] way."

Rudolph is set to appear in multiple episodes of the FOX freshman comedy. The first episode in which she's starring was filmed last week and is slated to air in early February.

The "Saturday Night Live" alum recently appeared in Netflix's "A Very Murray Christmas" and can be seen in Tina Fey and Amy Poehler's film "Sisters" which opens in U.S. theaters on December 18.

"The Grinder", which received a full-season order in October, airs Tuesdays at 8:30 P.M. ET/PT on FOX. The show has previously enlisted Jason Alexander, Timothy Olyphant, Christina Applegate, Kumail Nanjiani, Tony Sirico and Nathan Fielder as guest stars.
