Twitter users quickly react to the 79-year-old actor's comment on Charlie's recent announcement that he's HIV-positive.

AceShowbiz - Burt Reynolds received massive backlash after he weighed in on Charlie Sheen's HIV-positive announcement. During his appearance on British talk show "Loose Women" airing on Tuesday, December 8, the 79-year-old actor said that Charlie got what he deserved.

"He's handled it badly, I think," Burt said. "His father is a very, very decent man and a dear friend of mine. I feel bad for him but Charlie, I don't feel bad for him. He's getting what he deserves. If you're going to misbehave like that, they're going to get you."

Burt didn't stop there. The actor of "The Longest Yard" went on saying, "He misbehaved badly. Very badly." He added, "But you know, when you're that age, it's tough. All those things are coming at you and it's difficult."

Twitter users quickly reacted to Burt's harsh comment about Charlie. Most of them thought that the veteran actor was supposed to be more empathetic for Charlie. User @ALISONGBARMY wrote, "Disgusting of.burt Reynolds to say Charlie sheen deserves hiv. No.matter how.much u don't like someone u don't wish illness on em."

Another user @ddiva5263 even called Burt a nasty man as saying, "@loosewomen What a horrible thing for #burtreynolds to say, that #CharlieSheen deserves HIV. What a nasty man." User @bbellajamess tweeted, "Burt Reynolds is an a**hole. He wasn't so innocent when he was @charliesheen age. He was a real bastard. Leave Charlie alone Burt."
