While the cable channel was yet to make an official announcement, Kidman revealed Woodley's involvement during a talk in India.

AceShowbiz - It's a triple threat on HBO's "Big Little Lies". Shailene Woodley joins veteran actresses Nicole Kidman and Reese Witherspoon on the limited series from "Ally McBeal" creator David E. Kelley.

Although HBO was yet to officially announce Woodley's casting, Kidman made a head-start on the announcement during her appearance at the Hindustan Times Leadership Summit in India on Saturday, December 5. Sources also told THR that Woodley had been in negotiations and her deal is "near finalized" with the expectation to close next week.

Witherspoon and Kidman both serve as the executive producer of the series along with Pacific Standard's Bruna Papandrea and Blossom Films' Per Saari. Kelley wrote the series based on Liane Moriarty's book of the same title. HBO picked up the project in May following a bidding war with Netflix.

The book is described as a subversive comedy which centers on three mothers to kindergartners whose seemingly perfect lives unravel to a murder-mystery that takes place during a disastrous parents' night at an elementary school fundraiser. No premiere date has been announced but Kidman said production will start in January 2016.

Woodley previously starred on ABC Family's "The Secret Life of the American Teenager" for five seasons.
