FOX is investing on a horror series from "The Devil Inside" co-writer/director William Brent Bell. The network has ordered a script for "Haunted" which reportedly will bear some similarities to "The X-Files".

If "The X-Files" partners up FBI agents, "Haunted" pairs up a military agent and her rogue demonologist ex-boyfriend. The series follows the female skeptic and male true believer who are called into investigating a supernatural event. They are called to help a family overcome a deadly demonic infestation of their home.

Loosely based on Bob Cranmer's book titled "The Demon of Brownsville Road", the first season will investigate the true story of one the most haunted houses in America. The believer-vs.-nonbeliever duo, by solving the mystery of the present, will solve the mystery of their damaged past. At its core the series will explore the age-old question, "Is evil real?"

Chris Morgan ("Furious 7", "Gang Related") is on board as executive producer with Ainsley Davies. Lisa Arianna will serve as a producer. Bell is also attached to direct the project.
