Artist of the Week: Adele

The British beauty has shattered some records with her comeback single 'Hello' and will continue her domination in music industry with a new album called '25'.

AceShowbiz - The long wait for Adele's new album is finally over. After a three-year absence following the birth of her first child with longtime partner Simon Konecki, the British beauty is ready to take over the music industry again with "25" which is hitting the stores next Friday, November 20.

Adele last released a full-length project in 2011. Her "21" was huge. It topped the Billboard 200 charts for a total of 24 non-consecutive weeks and won the 27-year-old songbird multiple awards at prestigious events including the coveted Album of the Year trophy at the 2012 Grammys.

In a new interview with The New York Times, she revealed that she once thought about not doing a follow-up to "21" because of the record's massive success. "I didn't think I had it in me to write another record. I didn't know if I should. Because of how successful '21' was, I thought, 'Maybe everyone's happy with that being the last thing from me. Maybe I should bow out on a high,' " she said.

Now, Adele doesn't have to worry about how "25" will be. If it's lead single "Hello" is any indication, the album is on course to be as big as, if not bigger than, its predecessor. The song has spent two weeks at No. 1 on Billboard Hot 100 and its Xavier Dolan-directed music video has broken Vevo's record for the most-viewed clip in 24 hours with more than 27.7 million plays.

In a separate chat with i-D magazine, Adele teased how her forthcoming LP would sound different from her previous music. She said that her heartbreak era, which resulted in many of her "21" songs, was over. Even if "Hello" sounds very heartbreaking, it wasn't written with a particular person in mind.

"That's been over and done with for f**king years. No, ['Hello'] not about anyone specifically. It's about friends, ex-boyfriends, it's about myself, it's about my family. It's also about my fans as well. I feel like everyone thinks I'm so far away and I'm not. Everyone thinks I live in America, I don't," she shared.
