Director James Gunn Addresses 'Guardians of the Galaxy 2' Rumor
Movie

Responding to Bradley Cooper's recent interview, the director makes it clear that Cooper was not revealing Thanos as the main villain in the upcoming superhero movie.

AceShowbiz - "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" director James Gunn took to Twitter to address rumors about the possible main villain in the upcoming movie. The director made it clear that during a recent interview, Bradley Cooper was not revealing the main villain in the movie, saying that Cooper hadn't read the script yet.

"In response to all the stories coming out, Bradley Cooper didn't reveal anything. He just got the script and hasn't read it yet. I promise," Gunn tweeted. "That has not been revealed and Bradley doesn't know the main villain (or didn't at the time of the interview)," he wrote in another post.

In a recent interview to promote his upcoming film "Burnt" with Sienna Miller, Cooper suggested that Thanos might be the main antagonist in "Guardians 2" and that he might be the father of Chris Pratt's character Star-Lord. "But Josh Brolin's [who played Thanos in the first film] the villain, right? Or he's the main villain, no? He was in the first one. He played what's his name's dad," Cooper explained.

However, it seemed like Cooper might have mixed up Star-Lord and Ronan the Accuser or he was just misremembering a scene. Cooper appeared to be referring to Ronan, not Peter Quill, because the scene he explained saw Thanos talking to Ronan.
