Jennifer Lawrence reveals how her character in "The Hunger Games" trilogy inspires her in real life. Speaking at a conference for her film "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Part 2" in Berlin on Tuesday, October 3, the Oscar-winning actress said that her character Katniss Everdeen inspired her to be brave in speaking out against gender-based wage gap in the film industry.

When Jennifer was asked whether or not Katniss had motivated her to address the issue, she replied, "I don't see how I couldn't be inspired by this character, I mean I was so inspired by her when I read the books, it's the reason I wanted to play her... So I think it would be impossible to go four years with this character and not be inspired by her."

While the 25-year-old actress was inspired by Katniss, she admitted that she had difficulty in playing the character. The hardest part was the fact that the character was easily angry when she became a diehard revolutionary. "I wanted her to be a warrior right away, I wanted her to want to be a leader," Jennifer said. "I had to keep my own personal emotions about her situation out of my performance."

Following her essay about wage gap in Hollywood on the basis of sex, Jennifer got support from "American Hustle" director David O. Russell and male co-star Bradley Cooper. Bradley said he had begun teaming up with female co-stars to negotiate salaries before playing any film he's interested in working on.
