Amid various speculations on the possible reason that prompted Halle Berry and Olivier Martinez's divorce, there is a new claim mentioned career issues as one of the factor that caused their separation. A source close to the divorcing couple claimed Martinez felt "emasculated" by Berry.

"Everything about her emasculated him: She was beautiful, iconic, employed and the breadwinner," the source was quoted as telling PEOPLE. "They were living off of her and that entitled him and it enraged him - there was a duality there."

The source, moreover, revealed that Martinez felt threatened by Berry's flourishing career. "[Martinez] is not happy in the U.S. and he's not happy with the state of his career," the source claimed. "He's not happy she's the breadwinner."

Berry and Martinez first met on the set of the film "Dark Tide" back in 2010 and they then tied the knot in July 2013. During their two-year marriage the actress stayed busy working in movies and TV, while Martinez, who is a prominent French actor, struggled to get his footing in Hollywood.

Berry and Martinez released a joint statement earlier this week, publicly announcing their divorce. They, however, didn't provide information on the reason that prompted their split, except the cliche "irreconcilable differences." Neither of the stars has also spoken to the press about their failed marriage.
