AceShowbiz - Kristen Stewart and Chloe Sevigny are in talks to star in an untitled Lizzie Borden movie. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Sevigny will play Lizzie Borden, a fragile woman infamously accused of murdering her father and stepmother in 1892.
As for the "Twilight" star, she will portray Bordens' live-in maid, Bridget Sullivan, who might have been in the home when the murders were committed. She testified at the trial for the murders which ultimately resulted in Borden's acquittal.
The covered crime inspired children's rhymes sung to the tune of the then-popular song "Ta-ra-ra Boom-de-ay". The case also spawned several theories about who committed the murders and why. One of the theories suggested that Borden and Sullivan were lovers.
Pieter Van Hees will direct the psychological thriller with Bryce Kass writing the script. Naomi Despres ("Kill the Messenger") is producing, while Playtone is executive producing. Official release date has yet to be announced, but the movie is expected to hit U.S. theaters in 2017.
Sevigny appeared in the second season of "American Horror Story" and is starring in the fifth season. She won a Golden Globe for best supporting actress for her performance on HBO's "Big Love". Her other credits include "Bloodline" and "Portlandia".
Stewart recently starred in "American Ultra", "Still Alice" and "Clouds of Sils Maria", which helped her receive a Cesar award in France. She is currently attached in several projects like an untitled Woody Allen project and "Billy Lynn's Long Halftime Walk".
Stewart is also busy working on "Personal Shopper". The 25-year-old actress was recently spotted riding a motorcycle while filming the movie in Paris. She wore a pair of straight-cut black jeans and a white tee under a quilted black leather jacket. She was also seen carrying several designer shopping bags over her shoulders.
