The singer has been issued with a formal notice that his visa application would be denied, and is given 28 days to present material as to why he should be allowed to enter the country.

AceShowbiz - Chris Brown may really have to cancel plans to bring his "One Hell of a Night Tour" to Australia later this year. The country's immigration minister Peter Dutton is set to deny the singer's visa application, citing "character grounds" as the reason behind the decision.

Dutton said that the 26-year-old performer was issued with a formal notice that his visa application would be denied on Friday night, September 25. However, Breezy has been given 28 days to build and present an official appeal.

"People to whom these notices are issued have 28 days to present material as to why they should be given a visa to enter Australia," the minister explained. "Decisions on whether a visa will or will not be issued are made after that timeframe and consideration of the material presented to the Department of Immigration and Border Protection."

The news came just days after former Immigration Minister Michaelia Cash who's now serving as Minister for Women urged Dutton not to let Breezy get a visa due to his criminal conviction for assaulting then-girlfriend Rihanna in 2009.

"People need to understand if you are going to commit domestic violence and then you want to travel around the world, there are going to be countries that say to you: 'You cannot come in because you are not of the character we expect in Australia,' " said Cash. "This is a government that is not afraid to say: 'no.' "

Breezy is scheduled to start the Australian leg of his "One Hell of a Nite Tour" in December. He's expected to visit Perth on December 9 before making stops in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane on December 12, 14 and 16 respectively. The "Ayo" singer has yet to respond to the news.
