Robert Pattinson Responds to Racial Backlash Faced by Fiancee FKA twigs
Celebrity

The actor famous for his role as Edward Cullen describes his singer fiancee as 'just an amazing, amazing artist' and talks about 'Twilight' fame.

AceShowbiz - Robert Pattinson is upset about the racial backlash received by his singer fiancee FKA twigs. Just like the musician who recently said that she was "shocked and disgusted" by the racist trolls, the actor slams the haters and comes to her defense in a new interview with NME.

"I was talking to my dad about this and I bet him that if he looked up Nelson Mandela's funeral on YouTube, the first comment would be a racist one," he says. "And it was, with like a million upvotes. What I don't get is why. I think it's because most normal people are not commenters - I've never met anyone who's left a comment on anything. It's just demons who live in basements."

While the former "Twilight" actor keeps tight lips on his private life, he briefly talks about his girlfriend. The 29-year-old British star calls her "just an amazing, amazing artist."

During the interview, Pattinson also recalls life when he was still playing Edward Cullen. "I had people sitting outside my house every single day, and it drove me crazy," he explains his frustration with the paparazzi that hounded him. "I didn't go into a supermarket for about six years."

"I find the most embarrassing photo that can ever be taken of you is when you're in a bookshop and everyone can see what book you're buying," he says. "They might as well just take a picture of me having a wank ..." He adds, "There was definitely a bad side, but it was fun. It was an adrenaline rush."

He's relieved now that the franchise is over. "Now I can go in and chat to the guy who's working there about his kids, or where he's going on holiday, and not be thinking, 'Is he gonna sell me out?' I just don't have to think about that stuff anymore," Pattinson claims.
