The first clip for "Equals", which was premiered on Saturday, September 5, at the Venice Film Festival, has arrived. The clip features Kristen Stewart and Nicholas Hoult's characters who are engaged in an unlikely romance.

The clip looks cold and it opens with Silas (Hoult) entering a room to see Nia (Stewart) who is sitting alone. Silas stares at Nia with the eyes full of confusion. The two remain silent until Nia exits the room and leaves Silas alone.

Directed by Drake Doremus, "Equals" takes place in a futuristic utopia called The Collective, where humans no longer feel emotion. Silas, one of the inhabitants in the society, finds himself suffering from SOS (Switched-on-Syndrome), a disease that makes people feel depression, sensitivity, fear and love. He's supposed to go to The Den, where those with the disease go to die, but he realizes there's someone else who knows what he's going through.

Stewart and Hoult are joined by the likes of Guy Pearce, Kate Lyn Sheil, Jacki Weaver, David Selby and Aurora Perrineau in the cast. As of now, the movie doesn't have official U.K. nor U.S. release date.

During the press conference in Venice, Stewart shared her thought about having no emotion. "One thing we talked about endlessly was, do we still exist if love doesn't exist? Could we live without it?" she said. "Probably not. If you don't have passions, maybe not for another person. But passion, curiosity - that's what keeps us going."
