Damon Wayans took to Twitter on Sunday, September 6 to respond to backlash after he defended Bill Cosby during an interview with Power 105 "Breakfast Club" over the weekend. Damon wrote, "Stop twisting my words. Watch the entire interview before u condemn me!"

Damon then posted a 7-seconds clip from his "Breakfast Club" interview in which he said that he was "sorry" for the women who were raped by Bill. "For them, my heart goes out to them," he said, "For anybody who was raped by Bill Cosby, I'm sorry, and I hope you get justice." The 55-year-old comedian captioned the clip, "#thisisswhatisaid @wayansjr @marlonwayans."

Damon retweeted many tweets from his fans who supported him amidst backlash. He repeatedly posted the 7-seconds video. One of the postings was captioned, "#thetruthdontlie #donttakepiecesofmywords." He also reposted the clip on Instagram along with caption, "#aslongasthewitchhuntcontinues #thisisswhatisaid #defendcomedy @marlonwayans @wayansjr."

Damon received backlash after he dismissed Bill's rape scandal which involved more than 30 women as a "money hustle." He said during the "Breakfast Club" interview on Friday, September 4, "If I was [Cosby], I would divorce my wife, wink-wink, give her all my money, and then I would go do a deposition. I would light one of them three-hour cigars. I'd have some wine and maybe a Quaalude, and I would just go off, because I don't believe that he was raping."

"How big is his penis that it gives you amnesia for 40 years?" he added. "If you listen to them talk, they go, 'Well, the first time ...' The first time? B***h, how many times did it happen? Just listen to what they're saying and some of them really is unrape-able. I look at them and go, 'You don't want that. Get outta here.' "
