AMC is bridging its juggernaut series "The Walking Dead" and its new powerhouse "Fear the Walking Dead" with a new half-hour special. Not necessarily a crossover and is yet to get a title, it is a companion series to air as a web series.

According to EW, the series will take place during the time period of "Fear" aka in the beginning of the outbreak. It will feature the outbreak on a flying passenger plane where one person miraculously survives. This secret character will then be introduced in the second season of "Fear" which will have 15 episodes.

The special will also unspool in chapters that will air later during "Walking Dead". It is yet clear how many episodes there is but EW reported that the chapters would air during the commercial breaks of "Walking Dead" on-air telecasts. No writer of the special is known at this point. Among the producers are Dave Erickson and "Fear" co-executive producer David Weiner.

"The Walking Dead" returns to TV screen for sixth season on October 11. "Fear" premiered its pilot last week to a record of 13.3 million viewers.
