"The Flash" is bringing in more comic book characters to its upcoming second season. The show based on DC Comics has just found actors to portray heroine Jesse Quick and villain Tokamak.

Newcomer Violett Beane has been tapped for a multi-episode arc to play speedster Jesse Quick, TVLine reports. She is described as "a brilliant but quirky college student who gets caught up in the battle between The Flash and season 2 Big Bad (the not-yet-cast) Zoom."

In the comic books, Jesse Quick is the alter ego of Jesse Chambers, "a heroine with super-speed powers. Chambers is the daughter of Golden Age heroes Johnny Quick and Liberty Belle; she would later go on to adopt her mother's name. Her speed powers are accessed by speaking a special formula, although she also has her mother's abilities."

Meanwhile, according to Comic Book, Demore Barnes ("12 Monkeys", "Hemlock Grove") has landed the role of Henry Hewitt a.k.a. the Firestorm villain Tokamak. He is "a charming, but cocky scientist who was affected by the same Particle Accelerator explosion that created the Flash. When Caitlin Snow (Danielle Panabaker) recruits him to join the team at S.T.A.R. Labs, Hewitt jumps at the opportunity to fulfill his destiny as a powerful meta-human."

In the comic books, Tokamak created Firehawk, a superheroine with powers similar to Firestorm's, birthed through an experiment on a Senator's daughter that he kidnapped. He later tried the experiment on himself, which is how he got his powers.

EW additionally reports that Barry Allen's (Grant Gustin) former love interest Linda Park will return in season 2. Malese Jow will reprise the role, which she portrayed in season 1, in multiple episodes.

"Linda Park will return as Iris West's (Candice Patton) friend and colleague at Central Picture News and her past relationship with Barry will put both Iris and The Flash in unexpected danger," executive producer Gabrielle Stanton teases about Linda's return.

"The Flash" returns Tuesday, October 6 at 8 P.M. on The CW. To remind fans of the show's premiere date, the network has released a new poster featuring the titular character wearing his new costume with a white logo.
