Ike Barinholtz Teases Mystery Role in 'Suicide Squad'
Movie

The 'Sinisters' star hinted that the character he would play in the upcoming supervillain movie would be a 'troubled human being.'

AceShowbiz - Although many details of "Suicide Squad" have been revealed, there are some details regarding the characters that remain unknown. One of the currently-mysterious characters is the one to be played by Ike Barinholtz. In a recent interview, the actor finally gave hint about his character, saying that he would be an unlikely character.

"I can tell you my character in that movie is someone you would not want at your house for dinner. He's a very troubled human being," Barinholtz said. It seems like he is not one of the good guys appearing in the film. It makes sense because the movie centers on the story of DC supervillains who are forced by the government to do heroic action. However, Barinholtz didn't provide any further details about how his character would fit in the plot.

Previously, there were some rumors about some characters in the upcoming film. Jim Parrack was said to replace Joe Manganiello as Deathstroke before finally confirming that he would play Johnny Frost. Another names rumored to play Deathstroke was Scott Eastwood, but other rumors said that Eastwood would portray Dick Grayson. There were also two possible characters reported to be played by rapper-turned-actor Common. They were Bronze Tiger and Tattooed Man.

Although Warner Bros. CEO Kevin Tsujihara said that DC movies were dark and edgy, Barinholtz hinted that "Suicide Squad" would feature jokes after all. "The trailer is very serious, but [director] David Ayer is a psychopath. As as much as he loves the dark and exploring the disturbed side of society, it's not like you're telling jokes, but if you can just kind of in the moment try to play things a little honestly and react to these giant, huge superhero things that are happening, funny stuff can kind of happen and there can be laughs from it...," he said.

Barinholtz also acknowledged some of his co-stars who might support the funny parts for the movie, "Will Smith is a very funny guy, Jai Courtney is actually a very funny guy, Margot Robbie is actually funny, so I think there is going to be some moments in that that actually make people laugh."

Charles Roven and Richard Suckle are producing the film while the script is written by Ayer and Justin Marks. "Suicide Squad" is set for a release in the U.S. on August 5, 2016.
