Liam Neeson Eyed to Play Iconic American Hero in 'Operation Cromite'
Movie

The 'Taken' actor is in talks to play U.S. Army General Douglas MacArthur in the Korean movie about the Battle of Incheon.

AceShowbiz - Liam Neeson is in negotiations to star in Taewon Entertainment's Korean movie "Operation Cromite". According to Deadline, Neeson will portray U.S. Army General Douglas MacArthur.

The film focuses on the Battle of Incheon in 1950 in which United Nations forces launched a surprise attack against communist North Korean forces. The Korean War, which lasted between 1950-1953, left Western-allied South and Communist North under hostile relationship.

Although Neeson hasn't signed on for the project just yet, he's already had deep serious discussions with director John H. Lee about the part. No other casting announcement has been made.

Lee Jung Jae, Hyun Bin and Lee Beom Su are other names considered to take part in the movie. Le Mann Hee, who penned John H. Lee's "71: Into The Fire", will direct the pic and write the script. The movie doesn't have a U.S. release date just yet, but it is expected to arrive in 2016.

Neeson seems to be a worthy choice with a bunch of action movies in his CV. He previously portrayed some heroic characters in some movies such as "Schindler's List", "Rob Roy", "Michael Collins" "The A-Team", "Clash of the Titans", "Taken" and "Wrath of the Titans".
