After canceled almost a decade ago, "Deadwood" may get a closure it deserves in a TV movie. A spokesperson for HBO has confirmed that the network is considering to turn the David Milch-created western series into a TV movie, though it's noted that the project is still in "preliminary talks."

Earlier on Wednesday, August 12, Garret Dillahunt who played Francis Wolcott on the historical drama was gunning for the "Deadwood" movie. He tweeted, "So uh....I'm hearing credible rumors about a #Deadwood movie. #Everybodypray." He added later, "Come on @HBO...you made @entouragemovie. Give the #Deadwood fans some closure. #Youcandoit."

"Deadwood", which launched in 2004, revolved around life in the South Dakota town in the late 1800s. It had an all-star cast that included Timothy Olyphant, Ian McShane, Molly Parker, Jim Beaver, Keith Carradine, Kim Dickens, Anna Gunn and Sarah Paulson just to name a few. The show was praised by critics, but never hit high ratings.

When it was canceled in 2006 after three seasons, HBO offered series creator Milch a short, 6-episode final season, which he declined. They later decided to end the storyline with two, two-hour movies, but the plan never came to fruition with the actors already busy working on other projects.
