The 'GCB' actress who is also a Broadway veteran is expected to lend her voice to a new character in a movie based on Hasbro's beloved plastic toy ponies.

AceShowbiz - Hasbro collaborates with Lionsgate to bring "My Little Pony" to the big screen. Kristin Chenoweth is set to voice a new Pony in the film. It will still feature the familiar Mane Six characters with an injection of an all-new music.

The project will be the first animated feature for Hasbro. Meghan McCarthy from "My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic" animated series is tapped to write the screenplay while Jayson Theissen is attached to serve behind the lens.

In the movie, a new dark force threatens Ponyville, and the Mane 6 - Twilight Sparkle, Applejack, Rainbow Dash, Pinkie Pie, Fluttershy and Rarity - embark on an unforgettable journey beyond Equestria where they meet new friends and exciting challenges on a quest to use the magic of friendship and save their home.

Aside from developing a movie based on the beloved plastic toy ponies, Hasbro is working on a "Monopoly" film. They join a series of toy-themed flicks in Hollywood like "The Lego Movie" and "Pixels" and the upcoming "Minecraft", "Play-Doh", "Emoji", and an untitled Pez movie.
