Paramount Pictures vice chairman Rob Moore confirms that the sequel to 'Mission: Impossible Rogue Nation' is in the works, saying the crew are very happy to reteam with Tom Cruise.

Paramount Pictures vice chairman Rob Moore speaks up about "Mission: Impossible 6", confirming that the film is in the works. "We're very happy to be developing this movie with Tom [Cruise]," Moore tells Variety. "There's no question that Ethan Hunt deserves another film," he adds.

It is the first public comment by Paramount execs about the sixth film of "Mission: Impossible" movie franchise. Previously, when stopping by "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart" to promote "Mission: Impossible Rogue Nation", Tom Cruise hinted that "Mission: Impossible 6" would come very soon and the team behind the film had already started working on it.

"We're starting to work on it now. We'll probably start shooting it next summer," Cruise said. The decision to make another "Mission: Impossible" is a no-brainer as the fifth installment had a strong opening in this weekend box office. The movie earned an estimated $56 million from 3,956 domestic theaters. It was 40 percent higher than the expected $40 million opening.

Cruise is currently shooting drug thriller "Mena" which is directed by Doug Liman. Cruise also said on "The Daily Show" that he'd discussed an "Edge of Tomorrow" sequel with Christopher McQuarrie and Liman, who wrote and directed the sci-fi respectively.
