Jack Huston, Taron Egerton, and Dylan O'Brien are also reportedly considered to lead Lionsgate's upcoming take on the classic tale.

Several actors are lined up for the possible candidate for Lionsgate's "Robin Hood: Origins". Nicholas Hoult ("Mad Max: Fury Road") and Jack Reynor ("Transformers: Age of Extinction") are in the mix for the reboot.

According to Deadline, Jack Huston ("Boardwalk Empire"), Taron Egerton ("Kingsman: The Secret Service"), and Dylan O'Brien ("The Maze Runner") are also reportedly considered to play the male lead in the upcoming movie.

"Peaky Blinders" director Otto Hathurst will sit behind the lens and Joby Harold, who wrote Guy Ritchie's "Knights of the Roundtable: King Arthur", is tapped to pen the script. Leonardo DiCaprio produces it through his Appian Way banner.

Reynor reportedly had "a successful session" with the director while scheduling conflicts may prevent some other candidates, like Egerton who is expected to return for "Kingsman" sequel, to take the role.

"Robin Hood: Origins" is not the only remake being developed at Hollywood. Disney is working on "Nottingham & Hood", Sony is trying to create an interconnected universe for the classic story, and Warner Bros. is doing their own take on the tale.
