Showrunner Melissa Rosenberg says both shows share a mythology, 'but they look very different.'

AceShowbiz - "Jessica Jones" and "Daredevil" are both adapted from Marvel comics, produced by the same studio and distributed by Netflix, but the two shows are different in many ways. Showrunner Melissa Rosenberg explained how the shows would differ from each other during the 2015 Summer TCA press tour on Tuesday, July 28.

"The mythology of the universe is connected, but they look very different. Tonally, they're very different," she said. Rosenberg went on stressing, "They're wildly different," without sharing other details from the upcoming series.

"Daredevil" showrunner Steven S. DeKnight also hyped up "Marvel's Jessica Jones". He gushed, "Everything I've seen and heard about 'Jessica Jones' is fantastic." He also praised the comic book series written by Brian Michael Bendis, "He created this incredibly flawed, damaged, interesting character. Regardless of gender, it was the character that drew me. We've been going further in all of our storytelling. There is no edge."

"Jessica Jones" will feature Krysten Ritter as the titular character. After suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder, she hangs her costume and works as a private investigator. She's joined in the cast by Mike Colter as Luke Cage, and Carrie-Anne Moss as "the no-nonsense Harper, a person in a position of authority who could prove a powerful ally to Jessica."

Production is currently underway as the new series is expected to arrive in late 2015.
