According to the 'Vacation' filmmakers, the new Spidey is 'a sharp kid and witty and kind of deals with the fact that he's an outcast and a geek through humor.'

AceShowbiz - John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein opened up to NPR about writing the script for the untitled new Spider-Man movie. The filmmaking duo were promoting their upcoming movie "Vacation" reboot which is slated for a July 29 release when confirming their writing gig for the Spider-Man reboot.

When asked about penning the upcoming Spider-Man reboot, John said, "We can finally acknowledge that. This is the first time that we can say that we are writing it." Jonathan added, "We've been saying no comment for the last week. We're thrilled."

John further explained the new Spidey a.k.a. Peter Parker who will be played by Tom Holland. "He's a sharp kid and witty and kind of deals with the fact that he's an outcast and a geek through humor. It is sort of the safety net for geeks like us, so I think we can totally relate to where he's coming from. As well as the superpowers, which we also have," said the "Bones" star.

Tom's Spider-Man will make a cameo in upcoming "Captain America: Civil War" which is scheduled to be released in the U.S. on May 6, 2016. He will next be seen in his own solo movie, directed by Jon Watts, along with Marisa Tomei as Aunt May on July 28, 2017.
