The 'Watchmen' actor will play a 'calm, experienced hourly investigator' on the CBS show's season 7, while the 'Walking Dead' alum will recur as Bill and Libby Masters' former neighbor.

AceShowbiz - "The Good Wife" is adding an actor as a series regular for season 7. Jeffrey Dean Morgan has been cast as a "calm, experienced hourly investigator" whom Alicia (Julianna Margulies) hires in the upcoming seventh season of CBS' legal drama.

Executive producers Robert and Michelle King say of Morgan's casting, "We've loved and admired Jeffrey Dean Morgan for years, and we were thrilled to hear that Julianna did too, so it was a no-brainer to ask him to join our troupe."

Morgan, best known for his roles as Denny Duquette on "Grey's Anatomy" and as John Winchester on "Supernatural", currently stars on "Extant". He was also a series regular on "Magic City" and starred in Zack Snyder's superhero film "Watchmen".

The addition of Morgan will fill the void left by longtime cast member Archie Panjabi, who left the show at the end of season 6. Matthew Goode will also not return as a series regular for the seventh season.

In other casting news, Emily Kinney has landed another post-"The Walking Dead" role. The actress, whose character Beth was killed off in season 5 of the AMC hit series, will recur in the upcoming season 3 of Showtime's "Masters of Sex" as Nora.

Nora was Bill and Libby Masters' neighbor when she was a child. Now in her 20s, poised and brimming with intelligence, Nora volunteers to become a sex surrogate in the next phase of Masters and Johnson's research.

Kinney joins Josh Charles, Maggie Grace and Tate Donovan who were previously added to the cast of the provocative drama for the third season. She most recently guest starred on "The Flash" and will also appear on "The Knick" season 2.

"The Good Wife" will return on Sunday, October 4 at 9 P.M. on CBS, while "Masters of Sex" will debut its new season Sunday, July 12 10 P.M. on Showtime.
