Billy Joel tied the knot with his girlfriend Alexis Roderick in a surprise wedding at his Long Island estate on Saturday, July 4. Billy's rep tells PEOPLE in a statement that the couple "surprised guests at their annual July 4th party by exchanging vows in front of their family and close friends."
Billy and Alexis' wedding was officiated by his longtime friend New York Governor Andrew Cuomo. His daughter Alexa Ray, 29, and actor Kevin James were parts of the small group of family and friends attending the beautiful nuptials.
Billy's ex-wife and mother to Alexa, Christie Brinkley, congratulated the newlyweds on Instagram by posting, "Congratulation to the glowing bride and groom.. And to my daughter Alexa, who has a wonderful friend in Alexis! Wishing the growing family every happiness! @clairemercuri @myrna."
Billy and Alexis announced they're expecting their first child together back in April. At that time, the "Honesty" singer's rep said the baby would arrive in August.
Alexis celebrated the upcoming arrival of her baby with a baby shower in late June. She posted on Instagram some pictures from her baby shower. One photo showed her posing alongside Alexa in matching white dresses. "I am so blessed to have this beautiful woman as my love's daughter, my best friend and the big sister to our new baby! #blessed @alexarayjoel #noonelikeher," she captioned it.
Alexis also confirmed that she's expecting a daughter by sharing a photo of the message "IT'S A GIRL" written in the sand.
