Channing Tatum's 'Ghostbusters' Not Happening
Movie

Writer/producer Reid Caroline hints that the male-centric reboot of 'Ghostbusters' film, which was going to star Tatum, is not happening.

AceShowbiz - It was previously reported that Sony Pictures had a plan to make a "Ghostbusters" spin-off with an all-male cast. However, writer/producer Reid Carolin indicated that the untitled New Ghostbusters movie was not happening, saying that "it's too complicated."

In an interview with ScreenRant, Carolin, a producing partner of Channing Tatum, was pessimistic about the film. "No I don't think so, I think it's too complicated. There's a lot of things going on with that brand and I just feel like it's over-saturated," Carolin said of the male-centric movie.

The all-male spin-off was going to star Tatum, but the actor had already given a not-so-well response to the project. On Tuesday, June 23, when the actor was interviewed by Howard Stern, he said of the movie, "That thing's gotten messy. I gotta be honest, there's a lot of people doing a lot of things on 'Ghostbusters'."

The spin-off was apparently going to be written by Drew Pearce ("Iron Man 3). Rumors said that Chris Pratt was going to star alongside Tatum in the movie, but Pratt shot down those rumors immediately.

Based on what Carolin has said, the all-male "Ghosbusters" movie has a small possibility to happen. Meanwhile, Tatum's schedule is more than full right now as he is preparing his "X-Men" spin-off, "Gambit (2016)", and "23 Jump Street", which is also due in 2016. Rumor has it, Tatum's stripper movie "Magic Mike XXL" will possibly get a sequel and of course Tatum will return to the film.
