Joe Jonas' mother, Denise, opened up that she didn't want to interfere in her sons' love lives, including Joe's alleged romance with Gigi Hadid. The mother of three said on Thursday, June 18 at the 2015 Father of the Year Awards that she wanted to treat her sons' girlfriends like family.
"Of course you do," Denise said about wanting to protect her sons from getting hurt in relationship. However, she wanted to stay out of her sons' romantic relationships because she regarded them as part of her family. "But that whole relationship thing, I try to stay out of as a mom because all of my children's girlfriends and friends become part of my family and my heart," she continued. "I love all of them. And I try to stay out of it."
When she was asked about Joe's relationship with the 20-year-old model, she said, "I don't know yet. I have to see." Asked whether she agreed with their relationships, Denise joked, "We'll see! Check with me in a month."
During the event for the benefit of the American Diabetes Association, Joe and Gigi were also in attendance. Though they were not pictured together on the red carpet, they were spotted getting cozy throughout the event, kissing several times during the awards ceremony. Following the event, the rumored couple continued their date at The Abbey in West Hollywood with Joe's brother Nick Jonas and some friends. An eyewitness said, "Gigi and Joe were sitting close together, playfully talking in each other's ears most of the night."
