Six new posters for 'The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Part 2' capture the iconic '3-finger salute' from people of various ages and nationalities.

AceShowbiz - Lionsgate has unveiled six new minimalist teaser posters for "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Part 2", the last installment of its blockbuster franchise. The posters feature the iconic "3-finger salute" from six different persons.

The hands used in the advertising campaign were created from six images of people from various ages, both men and women. Some speculated that each of the hands belongs to one of the stars of the movie.

The posters are put on high profile buildings, billboards and megatron screens, including Times Square in New York, Westfield Centre in London, Colonne di San Lorenzo in Milan and Novy Arbat Avenue in Moscow. It also appears in some other cities all over the world like Birmingham, Bogota, Helsinki, Los Angeles, Madrid, Managua, Mexico City, Montevideo, Montreal, Munich, Paris, Rio de Janeiro, San Salvador, Stockholm, Sydney, Tokyo and Toronto.

A group of "Mockingjay" fans give tribute to the film by taking a picture in front of the posters while wearing special T-shirt with Mockingjay bird printed on it.

According to the first book of "The Hunger Games" series, the "3-finger salute" means "thanks," "admiration," and "good-bye to someone you love."

Directed by Francis Lawrence, who also directed the second and third installments of the franchise, this final film is due to arrive Stateside on December 20. Nina Jacobson and Jon Kilik produce the movie while Danny Strong writes the script.

The film brings back Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss Everdeen, Josh Hutcherson as Peeta Mellark, Liam Hemsworth as Gale Hawthorne, and Philip Seymour Hoffman as Plutarch Heavensbee. Also joining the cast are Julianne Moore, Sam Claflin, Evan Ross, Elizabeth Banks, Woody Harrelson, Donald Sutherland, Stanley Tucci and Jena Malone.
