Rainn Wilson and Mandy Patinkin also join the voice cast of the fully computer-animated reboot which is due 2017.

AceShowbiz - The new Smurf movie, "Get Smurfy", has revealed the voice cast along with the synopsis, release date, and first image from the upcoming animated film. The announcement was made to celebrate Global Smurfs Day on Sunday, June 14.

Demi Lovato is tapped to voice Smurfette, replacing Katy Perry who got the role in the previous two films. Mandy Patinkin will provide the voice of Papa Smurf and Rainn Wilson will lend her voice to the villainous Gargamel.

Unlike the previous flicks which were a mix of live action and computer animation, this new one will be fully computer-animated reboot. Directed by Kelly Asbury ("Shrek 2"), it is scheduled to make its way out in U.S. on March 31, 2017.

"The continued popularity of the Smurfs is unmistakable, and this new outing will return them to the fully animated world that launched them," the director says. 2011's "The Smurfs" and 2013's "The Smurfs 2" grossed over $900 million combined worldwide.

The new film will follow Smurfette and her fellow blue creatures as they search the Enchanted Forest for the fabled Smurfs village. It will answer some long-held questions about the Smurfs, including why there's only one girl among them.
