A new reality show about music producer, Jay Williams, a man who has 34 children with 17 different women has been scrapped by OWN. It was supposed to debut in September at the Oprah Winfrey-founded network but the production is abruptly shut down.
"OWN has decided not to move forward with the Jay Williams docuseries," the statement reads. "The series aimed to follow Jay as he worked to put his life and fractured relationships in order and to hold him accountable every step of the way. The intention was to help Jay work to establish new connections with his family, his children and the mothers of his children. Production has ended and the series will not air."
Williams first appeared on OWN's series "Iyanla: Fix My Life" where he sat down with four of his children. "I have not honored your mothers as women the way that I should have. I would never say willingly, but I absolutely fell short on my responsibilities to you as a provider, at times," he reportedly said.
The upcoming series was originally planned to be a spin-off of the series. It was expected to follow Williams' relationship with his children and his attempts at making amends with his family. No explanation is made regarding the cancellation.
