Slim Jimmy got badly injured following an incident that happened while he and his Rae Sremmurd partner were performing at the 2015 Governors Ball. Billboard reported that during the duo's set on Friday afternoon, June 5, the rapper fell offstage in the middle a song and somehow ended up with a piece of glass in his leg.
Jimmy was carried back onstage by some crew members and was placed behind the DJ booth. Swae Lee, the other half of Rae Sremmurd, then revealed to the crowd how bad his brother's injury was. "This shit is pretty crazy. ... This n***a's leg is like, split open, I'm serious," he said.
A few minutes later, Jimmy himself said to the crowd from behind the DJ booth that there's "a big a** piece of glass" stuck in his leg. He also encouraged anyone who recorded the incident to put the video on Instagram. He was then taken to a hospital for further medical treatment and Lee continued the show alone.
Jimmy, however, appears to have got better. Shortly after the incident, a photo shared on Rae Sremmurd's Instagram showing the 21-year-old MC in the ambulance with his bleeding leg being wrapped in bandage. The snap came along with a caption that read, "@jxmmis is doing ok thanks to all the fans #GovernorsBall."
