Caitlyn Jenner is fully aware that her family needs time to adjust to her transition from her former identity to the new one. Hence, to make it easier especially for her kids to get used to it, the reality star is reportedly still allowing them to address her as "dad."
"[Caitlyn] spoke to each of the kids separately and told them to take their time in getting used to this," a source related to Caitlyn's family told PEOPLE. "She would prefer not to be called 'Bruce,' but told the kids that they could still call her 'Dad,' at least for now."
"Caitlyn has been really understanding that it doesn't come naturally for anyone," the source added. "No one expects this change to happen overnight. If one of the boys slips up, it's not a big deal."
Caitlyn debuted herself on Monday, June 1 through the now-phenomenal Vanity Fair's cover for the magazine's July issue. In the cover, she looked stunning in silky white corset while sporting voluminous wavy hair and full make-up.
She later posted the cover on her new Twitter account, writing, "I'm so happy after such a long struggle to be living my true self. Welcome to the world Caitlyn. Can't wait for you to get to know her/me."
Many people are excited and very supportive of her transition. Following her debut in Vanity fair, her family and a lot of fellow celebrities including Katy Perry, Lady GaGa, Ellen DeGeneres, Anna Kendrick and Sam Smith took to social media to show their support for Caitlyn.
