Jessica Simpson's mother Tina Simpson got engaged to her gardener boyfriend Jon Goldstein. A rep for the couple confirmed to Us Weekly, "After 2 years of dating, Jon Goldstein and Tina Simpson are engaged. They are thrilled and completely in love!"
Tina later took to Instagram to share the happy news with her followers, writing, "He put a ring on it #intheclouds #gardener4life #loveofmylife." The snap features Tina hugging her fiance as she flashes her huge engagement ring.
Jon is the owner of Johnny Appleseed Landscaping whose clients including the Simpson sisters, Tom Hanks, Mark Wahlberg and the Bel-Air hotel. He and Tina were first snapped together at Jessica's wedding party at San Ysidro Ranch on July 4 last year.
"He's a really nice guy," a friend of Jon told the website. "He's always cared about Tina...He's known them for 15 years and has been a part of their family. He's so happy she said yes! I know he had been planning on asking her for a while."
Asked whether or not Jessica and her sister Ashlee Simpson approved of their future stepfather, a source said that they were happy for their mom. "They're happy that their mom is happy," the source claimed.
Tina previously was married to Joe Simspson. She filed for divorce from him in 2012 after 34 year of marriage. A source said at that time that the separation was amicable and there was no third party involved.
