Movie

The 'Trainwreck' actress has signed up to write and star in the new film which is developed at 20th Century Fox.

AceShowbiz - While her "Trainwreck" is yet to hit theaters until this coming July, Amy Schumer has already landed a new gig. The funnywoman is set to co-write and star in a new comedy which is being developed at 20th Century Fox, with "Bridesmaids" director Paul Feig serving as producer.

The Hollywood Reporter reported on Friday, May 22 that the script which was initially written by Katie Dippold would be re-written by Schumer along with her sister Kim Caramele. The idea was to remake the main character in Schumer's voice. Fig would produce the film alongside Jessie Henderson.

Though plot details are still kept secret, the film is reportedly in the vein of Feig's "The Heat". The untitled film will tell a story about a mother-daughter duo who are put together for an awry vacation.

Amy Schumer is apparently at the top of her career after her success through a sketch comedy series, "Inside Amy Schumer", which airs on Comedy Central. She landed her major film role in Judd Apatow's "Trainwreck" which will hit U.S. theaters on July 17. In addition to Schumer who plays one of main characters, the film stars Bill Hader, Tilda Swinton, Brie Larson, John Cena, Colin Quinn, Ezra Miller, Barkhad Abdi, Mike Birbiglia and Vanessa Bayer.
