Ed Sheeran performed with Kermit the Frog for Red Nose Day. The British redhead and the iconic character from "The Muppets" made adorable duet partners as they sang "Rainbow Connection" during the Thursday, May 21 three-hour telethon on NBC.

Sheeran played his guitar while he and Kermit joined forces to sing an acoustic version of the track which the frog first sang in "The Muppet Movie" back in 1979.

Red Nose Day, which was held for the first time in the U.S. after three decades of fundraising in the U.K., was meant to raise money for nonprofit children's organizations around the world. "Could all you folks call in and help to donate for kids and help them out?" Kermit asked before the performance.

"It would mean a lot to me, it would mean a lot to thousands of kids around the world but most of all it would mean a lot to Kermit because he's not allowed to go back to the swamp unless he brings back the bacon," Sheeran joked and Kermit later quipped, "Some green so to speak."

The event also featured U2 who performed "Song for Someone". "Tonight it's a song for anyone who supports Red Nose Day, all across America," said frontman Bono. "For Red Nose Day has come to America."
