Pamela Anderson Strips Off to Mimic 'Psycho' Shower Scene for PETA

Reenacting the famous shower scene from 'Psycho' in the ad, Pamela asked people to shorten their shower time and stop eating meat to prevent drought.

AceShowbiz - Pamela Anderson strips naked for PETA's latest campaign. Recreating the popular shower scene from "Psycho", the 47-year-old actress teamed up with the animal rights community to raise people's awareness of meat trade's water waste and offer a solution to the California drought.

In the black-and-white picture photographed by David LaChapelle, the former "Baywatch" star mimics Janet Leigh in a scene from the 1960 Alfred Hitchcock classic movie. She wears nothing and only covers her front with a small towel while screaming in the shower.

Along with the snap, there is a message written on the right side. "Meat and dairy farms drain half the country's water," the message reads. "Making a splash for the environment doesn't just mean shorter showers. Try vegan."

The campaign came following national debate of water restriction which stemmed from a devastating drought in California. It is claimed that the disaster was prompted by the excessive usage of water of the state's meat industries.

"Rivers are siphoned off, not just for the animals but also for crops grown to feed animals on factory farms," the actress who's also PETA's honorary director and a longtime vegan said in a statement. "Producing one pound of beef uses as much water as about six months of showers."

Pamela's statement was in line with the Center for Science in the Public Interest's report. The organization claimed that 55 percent of the county's water supply is drained by animal agriculture. Meanwhile, homes only use 5 percent of the supply.
