Universal Pictures has set 'By the Sea', starring Jolie and Pitt, for a release on November 13 in the U.S., pitting it off against other wide openers from Warner Bros and Paramount Pictures.

"By the Sea" has got a release date. The movie starring Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt is set for a release on November 13 this year for U.S. market, while the international release is expected to be around the date. On the date, "By the Sea" will face off against some other movies including Paramount's "Rings" and Warner Bros' "The 33".
The film, directed by Jolie herself, also stars Melanie Laurent, Niels Arestrup, Melvil Poupaud and Richard Bohringer. It is inspired by European cinema and theater of the '60s and '70s. It tells a story about an American writer (Pitt) who traveled with his wife (Jolie) to a peaceful and picturesque seaside resort in 1970s France while their marriage is in crisis. Laurent and Poupaud portray newlyweds who spend time with them in that quaint place.
"This is a story about a relationship derailed by loss, the tenacity of love, and the path to recovery and acceptance," Jolie said. "It has been a privilege to explore these universal human experiences with such a generous and talented cast and crew." Jolie and Pitt also serve as producers for this film while Chris Brigham ("Inception"), Holly Goline ("Unbroken") and Michael Vieira ("Unbroken") serve as executive producers.
Two previous movies which Jolie directed, "In the Land of Blood and Honey" and "Unbroken", received numeorus awards.
