The exes publicly apologize to families and friends after they officially ended their second marriage.

AceShowbiz - Pamela Anderson and Rick Salomon finalized their divorce on Monday, April 27. The exes issued a joint statement on Wednesday, apologizing for their messy divorce proceedings, including the one when Rick called Pamela "a serial baby killer."
"Public divorces can be harsh and cruel. We apologize to our families and friends for any hurt and embarrassment we have caused," the former couple said, "We have come to an amicable agreement and are moving on. There are private and personal family sensitivities to consider and we retract any hurtful comments made in haste and distaste. We wish each other and our families well."
A source close to Pamela and Rick told PEOPLE that the exes would need time to recover after years of drama and difficulties. "Pamela has pushed Rick away completely and will not speak to him," the source said, "We are sure it is for the best for now. She didn't want any money, and even gave the car back he gave her two Christmases ago. He insisted on looking out for her by paying some outstanding bills, but that's it. It was never about money. Pamela has her own money."
The source added, "She agreed to settle the divorce in Nevada as he wished. It got ugly unnecessarily through miscommunication. They are completely supportive of each other. Things will blow over. They have just chosen not to be married. The kids are all ok and doing well. And they all understand it was a big risk."
"They both went into this hopeful with good intentions," the source said of the exes' second try at marriage, "They were trying to revive a difficult past year that was full of empty promises. [In the end] it was too hard. They were happy a lot, but things fell apart due to their different philosophies about family and lifestyles. Pamela is still devastated as she tried to hold the family together."
The source claimed Rick's lifestyle didn't match with Pamela. "Rick's lifestyle and what came with it was too hard for her. As open-minded as she is, she is still just an old-fashioned, small-town romantic girl - while Rick will always be a city-street kid. Marriage doesn't suit his lifestyle. Still, Pamela will always be the love of his life."
Pamela and Rick were first married in 2007 and their marriage was annulled just two months later. They later reunited and got married again in January 2014 but Pamela filed for divorce six months later.
The source explained, "It has been an emotional roller coaster since their first marriage. We all know they will be friends again one day, but the dramatic divorce took its toll and caused unnecessary grief."
