The Mexican actress posted a close-up video which features herself eating a cricket for her alleged dietary requirement.

AceShowbiz - Salma Hayek took to Instagram to show herself eating a cricket. She uploaded a video on Sunday, April 19 and captioned it, "Cricket eating #oaxaca#samihayek@hayekstudio." She took a close-up shot as she rested the insect on the tip of her tongue and started chewing it. In the video she said, "These are crickets from Mexico, from Oaxaca, and they are eaten..."
It turns out that the insect she ate in the video is a popular delicacy in Oaxaca, Mexico. They are usually called "Chapulines" and people usually season it with garlic, lime juice and salt. Hayek reportedly did it as part of her dietary requirement.
The Mexican actress previously revealed on "Late Show with David Letterman" that she loved to eat grasshopper. "Look, I'm salivating. They're delicious," she said. She admitted that she's a fan of insect and she ate a variety of them. "These little ants fried are amazing with a little guacamole. And the worms, there are many different recipes for those. The little grasshoppers have a smoky flavor to them. It's the way they cook them, and it's really good," she boasted.
