'When one is granted success, random people pop up,' says Bibi Bourelly, a 20-year-old songwriter behind RiRi's new single.

Last week, reports emerged claiming that Rihanna stole her new single "B**ch Better Have My Money" from Houston artist Just Brittany. While the Bajan beauty hasn't responded to the news yet, one of the songwriters behind the track has. Bibi Bourelly, the songwriter, addressed the plagiarism accusations in a new interview with Vibe.

"It's like you dedicate [your] entire life to something, you know?" Bourelly told the site. "You fight for something and actually put the work in, and sacrifice time, like your parents told you to do in order to be 'successful,' just so when you finally reach a victory and it's time to celebrate, some obstacle is there to pull you back down again. But that's life, I guess."

The 20-year-old singer/songwriter, however, didn't actually talk about the similarities between RiRi's song and Just Brittany's "Betta Have My Money". Only saying that the phrase "b**ch better have my money" had been around even "before [her] time," she went to assure everyone that the plagiarism claims wouldn't bring her down.

"I don't want to bash anybody or be bitter or mean. I just want to be able to celebrate our victory," she continued. "A lot of things change when one is granted success, random people pop up, and a lot of the adjustments are rough. My way of coping with them is through focusing on the things that I have accomplished and the things that are yet to come."
