The first trailer for Joel Edgerton's directorial debut "The Gift" has been made available for viewing pleasure. It gives a glimpse at the actor's portrayal as a creepy man reconnecting with an old friend (Jason Bateman) who came to town with his wife (Rebecca Hall).
The couple seeks to reinvigorate their relationship with a fresh beginning in a new town, only to have their life disrupted by sins from the past. After a seemingly coincidental series of encounters proves troubling, a horrifying secret is uncovered after nearly 20 years. The unsettling truth sends their world into a harrowing tailspin.
The psychological thriller comes from the producer of "Whiplash" and "The Purge", Jason Blum. It is scheduled to make its way out in the United States starting July 31.
