Lupita Nyong'o Has No Normal Sense, Wants to Be Like Emma Thompson

In an interview with May 2015 issue of Harper's Bazaar U.K., the actress admitted to have looked up to Emma Thompson as her role model.
Gracing the cover of the May 2015 issue of Harper's Bazaar U.K., Lupita Nyong'o shares in an accompanying interview how living in showbiz has made her lose the normal sense. "You know, I thought it would come to an end after the Oscars. I thought the Oscars would come and go and then all of a sudden everything would be back to normal and I'd be back in my apartment," so she stated.

"You know what kept me sane? Not knowing," so admitted Nyong'o. "Having never really experienced that before ... because this was new territory I had no normal. I had no sense of what was normal in that world. It was all new. I don't think [I would attend that many events again]. Not to that extent."

And dealing with the tough times she faced in the entertainment business, Nyong'o admitted in further interview with Harper's Bazaar that she looked up to fellow actress Emma Thompson. "It was such a relief... witnessing her going through that whole thing with an ease and a playfulness and just abandon," so she revealed her adoration for Thompson. "That is like the person I want to be. I want to be that comfortable even in this very alien environment that you get put in."

Nyong'o was catapulted to instant stardom after winning a Best Supporting Actress Oscar in 2014 for her starring role as Patsey in "12 Years a Slave". She has since become a media darling and scored more acting roles. In her interview with the publication, which will hit newsstands on Thursday, April 2, she also addressed such topics as award acceptance speech, heritage, as well as the diversity in Hollywood.
