Zach Galifianakis Is Unlikely Bank Robber in First 'Masterminds' Trailer
Movie

Galifianakis plays a clumsy night guard who commits bank heists in the comedy movie which also stars Kristen Wiig, Owen Wilson and Jason Sudeikis.

AceShowbiz - What if a clumsy man organizes a bank heist? "Masterminds" takes on this unlikely scenario and brings it to the big screen with an all-star cast. At the center of the story is Zach Galifianakis' character David Ghantt, a night guard at an armored car company in the Southern U.S. who is looking for a little adventure.

His life of monotony is about to take a turn when his flirtatious work crush Kelly Campbell (Kristen Wiig) lures him into the scheme of a lifetime. Along with a group of half-brained criminals led by Steve Chambers (Owen Wilson) and an absurdly faulted heist plan, David manages the impossible and makes off with $17 million in cash...only problem is he foolishly hands the money over to this wild group of double crossers and has been set up to take the fall.

With the bandits blowing the millions on lavish and ridiculous luxuries, they leave behind a glaring trail of evidence. Now on the lam and in over his head, David must dodge the authorities, evade a hilarious hit man, Mike McKinney (Jason Sudeikis), and try to turn the tables on the ones he trusted most.

Based on a true story, the comedy is written by Emily Spivey, Jody Hill, Danny McBride, Chris Bowman and Hubbel Palmer. It is directed by Jared Hess and will be released in theaters across the nation on August 7.
