Mumford & Sons is ready to take the music world by storm once again with their new music. After taking a one-year break following a tour to promote their 2012 effort "Babel", the British band is now preparing their third studio album that they've promised will be different from their previous releases.

The group has revealed that they'll ditch the banjo on the upcoming record titled "Wilder Mind". They'll replace their signature instrument with guitars and synths, and they'll use a full drum kit to replace frontman Marcus Mumford's kick drum. With these changes, their sound will be more expansive and heavier.

"We've had our standard line-up of instruments for the last six years and we felt like that was our palette, [but] we started picking up other stuff," Ben Lovett recently told NME of the band's new sound. "It's a very natural departure from some of that rootsier stuff."

"When we started out making the record there wasn't a template or a sound that we were trying to continue," he added. "When we were working on 'Babel', 'Sigh No More' was our starting point, but we didn't start from 'Babel' and build from that for the third album."

"Wilder Mind" is scheduled for release on May 4. Mumford & Sons unveiled "Believe" earlier this month as a preview of their new LP. Receiving critical acclaim upon its arrival, the song debuted at No. 31 on Billboard Hot 100 and at No. 4 on Billboard's Hot Rock Song.
