Blessed with younger look, Ryan Phillippe admits her daughter Ava Elizabeth Phillippe sometimes hates it, especially when people think he is her brother. In a recent interview with Variety, he revealed, "My daughter hates it. Because sometimes people have thought I'm her brother, and she's freaked out by that."

Phillippe, moreover, claimed now that he is 40 years old he still gets carded "constantly" in bars and restaurants by people who think he is under 21 years old. "It's crazy. And still, I get carded constantly," so he confessed.

When being asked by Variety what it was like becoming a sex symbol at such a young age after he rose to stardom for starring in "I Know What You Did Last Summer" in 1997, Phillippe replied, "Things were really not that hard back then. They were uncomplicated, compared to now." He continued explaining, "That was sort of the end of my innocence. I made 'Cruel Intentions' when I was 23, and I did 'I Know What You Did Last Summer' when I was 21 or 22, so that was like the end of my youth, because I went straight into marriage and kids."

In addition to Ava, Phillippe and his former wife, actress Reese Witherspoon, have a son together named Deacon Reese Phillippe. They were married from June 1999 to October 2007.
