Valentin Chmerkovskiy turned 29 years old on Tuesday, March 24 and friends and family teamed up to throw him a surprise birthday party later that night. The dancer's current "Dancing with the Stars" partner Rumer Willis and former partner Zendaya Coleman gathered along with his brother Maksim Chmerkovskiy, Peta Murgatroyd, Emma Slater, and Cheryl Burke to surprise him at Aventine Trattoria in Hollywood.
"When he walked in the door at 8:30, everyone shouted 'Happy birthday!'" so said a partygoer. "They all ran up to give him a hug and show their love for him on his special day."
Guests were treated to customized Ciroc vodka cocktail, dubbed "The Valentin", named after the birthday boy, margherita pizzas, mini meatballs, grilled chicken and gnocchi. At the end of the night, Val was presented with a tiramisu cake complete with sparklers and "everyone joined in to sing 'Happy Birthday.' He had the best night," so said the guest.
Val himself couldn't be more thankful for the memorable birthday. He took to Instagram to share a snap from his bash with the caption that read, "thank you to all my friends for pulling me away from work, against my will (cause I'm grinch) and giving me an incredible birthday experience proving once again why I'm the luckiest man on earth. Love and health to all. and even though sparkles aren't necessary they always brighten the mood. #twentynineyearsyoung #fam."
