It's official, Damian Lewis is returning to Showtime with a new series after his "Homeland" character was killed off. His drama project "Billions" has been picked up for a full series with 12 episodes being ordered. Filming is expected to begin later this year in New York for a 2016 premiere.

Set in the high stakes world of finance in Manhattan, the show revolves around the clash between two larger-than-life figures; a hedge-fund titan named Bobby "Axe" Axelrod who is played by Lewis and a U.S. attorney named Chuck Rhodes who is portrayed by Paul Giamatti.

"The dynamic star pairing of Paul Giamatti and Damian Lewis is matched by an equally exciting team in the writing of this show," Showtime President David Nevins said in a statement.

The series will also be supported by Maggie Siff, Malin Akerman, Toby Leonard Moore, David Costabile, and Condola Rashad. The pilot is directed by "Divergent" helmer Neil Burger who also serves as an executive producer.
