Anthony and Joe Russo have long been rumored to take over "Avengers 3" after their big success with "Captain America: The Winter Soldier". Now Badass Digest claims and The Hollywood Reporter confirms that the duo has sealed the deal to helm not just the third "Avengers" film but also the fourth one.

The Russo brothers will sit at the helm replacing Joss Whedon who directed the first two films. They are expected to reunite with Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely, the screenwriting duo who helped with the three "Captain America" movies, "Thor: The Dark World", and "Marvel's Agent Carter".

"Avengers: Infinity War Part I" will hit U.S. theaters on May 4, 2018, while "Avengers: Infinity War Part II" is set for May 3, 2019. In the meantime, Marvel is promoting "Avengers: Age of Ultron" which opens on May 1 this year and gearing up to begin production of "Captain America: Civil War" which is due May 6, 2016.
